Climate 
Mooiplaats Safari Lodge is situated in a summer rainfall area, with the occasional showers. The summer months (October to April) are hot and often balmy. During these months the bush is beautiful lush and green. Winters are warm and mild. In the evening it cools down so that guests going on night-drives will require warm clothing. With the bush brown and greyish this makes an excellent season for game viewing.

Malaria
Although reported cases of malaria are very seldom, Mooiplaats Safari Lodge is situated in a low risk malaria area.
In order to maintain the low occurrence of malaria we advise our guests to sleep under the provided mosquito nets, to wear long-sleeved shirts and trousers at dusk and dawn and to apply repellent to exposed parts of the body. As a further precaution guests are advised to consult their doctor on the use of anti-malaria medication.
